‘For, Love Friendship and the Ideal’…

I met my first Chow in 1988 at the age of 16, even though his grooming was neglected he still had the regal air of the Chow Chow.

Thirteen years later I met a beautiful chow  owned by Marle(Ningkai Chow Chows) and through Zena and searching for info on the Net about Chows, my Rescue boy, Bobby found me.

The love and devotion of this little boy made me realize that a Chow owns you and not the other way round.

When Vanessa (Kimekai Chow Chows) imported Tanaka, I knew that a puppy from Tanaka and Taipan is what I wanted in a Chow.

Although a select few had told me I’d never get a puppy from Vanessa, I gathered up all my courage and phoned her one evening. I joined the waiting list and after a couple of years of patient waiting, Kimekai Samuri’s Legacy AKA  ‘Shinto’ came to me.

We both serve on the committee of the only Chow Chow Club in South Africa - Eurika is the secretary and editor of the quarterly newsletter while Gerhard is the vice chairman - our way of giving back to our beloved beed
